Comparison between the KMT Party in China and the Soviet Communist Party, Similarities and Differences

Similarity One:

Both were founded by one man. The KMT was founded by Dr. Sun Yat-sen with Three Principles as an ideology, while Lenin founded the Soviet Union Communist Party which was based on Marx's thesis.

Similarity Two: Both governments succeeded empires. Lenin's organized party finished the imperial Tsar, and the KMT concluded the Qing Dynasty imperial ruling.

Similarity Three: Both Imperial Qing China and Imperial Tsarist Russia were defeated by Japan.

China was defeated in a war with Japan in 1894. Her entire Beiyang navy fleet was annihilated and heavy main fleet (bought from Germany) was first sunk, then salvaged and looted by Japan along with expensive equipment. This only added fuel to help Japan to defeat Russia's pacific fleet 10 years later in 1904.

Similarity Four:

Gorbachev transformed from the one party state government designed by Lenin to a Congress with president. In 1991 the Russian people had the good sense to remove the Communist Party structure. Reforms were started by Gorbachev in 1985, which eventually led to the breakup of the Soviet Union under Boris Yeltsin in 1991.

In 1946, the KMT started the People's Assembly to elect a president and promulgated a ROC Constitution on January 1, 1947.

Difference One, mode of thinking and philosophy:

Internalized with ancient Chinese values, for the Chinese Nationalist minds, there are three immortal achievements: first, is to build on your morals, second, to build your contribution, thirdly, is to leave memorable words.

The KMT exemplified the ancient spirit of achievement and morality, keeping sovereignty and justice, but were very quiet about leaving great books or documents. This is why Han Institute needs to help to broadcast to strengthen the KMT, as the KMT is weak on writing kind words for themselves.

Because this thinking is that you may advocate your own 'words and beliefs', history is not for the conquerors only. Other versions should be heard.

Ultimately the KMT's dream is for equality and fair harmonious world, as depicted in ancient Da Xue (Big Study) book. This differs from Soviet's socialist version which advocated violence and rejected any concept of morality or justice, only believing in power.

Difference Two:

That KMT inherited mounting unequal treaties with foreign powers as the residue of the Qing selling out China's sovereignty. The Soviet Union had less struggles, as the Tsarist government was on a more equal footing with the west.

The KMT inherited China at a weak point, after being in possession by the Qing for 268 years, which left behind many unequal treaties for the country to deal with.

The first unequal treaty was the 1842 Nanjing Treaty, which opened 5 seaports to the British, who freely sold opium. This sapped the silver reserves and enriched the British pound sterling.

Lenin didn't cancel the Tsar's occupation of Manchuria via railroad treaties; this encroached on China's sovereignty.

Difference Three:

KMT worked hard to abolish all the unequal treaties and succeeded in 1942, only after sacrificing millions of lives and subjecting the mainland to fire and rampaging by the Japanese fascist troops. During all of this time the Soviet Union had a neutrality pact with Japan.

Nationalists erased 100 years of shame, between the first unequal treaty in 1842, until they were abolished in 1942.

In 1937, Nanjing as the Nationalist capital was raped and even Hitler commented that Japan military atrocities were inhuman.

We should not forget Nanjing was ransacked also in the 1853 Taiping Rebellion, in which southern barbarians from Canton conducted city cleansing.

From the Russian people's capability to transform the Soviet Union's anti-humanity form of ideology and government to a modern congressional form, this earns our respect. However, Communist China, which is an offspring of the Soviet regime, still persists in the CCP's last struggle in keeping the Communist status quo as the one dictatorial party which enjoys all the fruits that the Nationalist government led the people to earn.

The peace dividend has all been distributed to mainland China Communists, and the public land in Taiwan has been given to native Taiwanese who are in possession of a colonial Japanese identity.

The KMT is a graceful party, as our founders gave their lives, their assets, and distributed their wealth for the cause to earn China's integrity as a modern civilized nation.

No matter how much they control, propaganda and blockade the truth to the world, the CCP is teetering.

KMT will sustain just like the Chinese civilization evolves and reinvents itself. As the Yi Jing Book of Change said: The truth of Yi is in line with universal longitude and latitude, so it is integrated accurately and seamlessly.

KMT values are intertwined with Chinese values, so KMT will perpetuate, while the Soviet Stalinist extreme Communist measures did not reflect Russian values or the values of any culture.

KMT is here to stay because their values are integral to the Chinese system. In the PRC the party and the state are identical. The Soviet Communist system has fallen, and the PRC has yet to reform.
